QUALITY MOTORCYCLE PAINTING AT REASONABLE PRICES

I had done a lot of searching for someone to paint the tank and side panels of my 72 roadster... I couldn't find anybody in the UK who was confident enough to paint them in Royal Blue Fireflake, because of the size of the flake..

By chance I saw Brents ''October special'' on the forum and contacted him. We corresponded and I deceided to take a chance and send my tin ware across the pond for paint..

Boy am I glad I did.. The results are truly stunning. Photos dont do the job justice with the flake in it. I can't give this guy enough praise, he is one talented painter. I will be recomending him to anybody this side of the water who wants their paint done right. Even with the postage the price is more than reasonable for the high quality job he produces, the ease of transaction, and communication at all stages, leave all others in the shade.

Thanks Brent.

Chris.

I had researched for over a year to be sure that when I painted my vintage Triumph tank it would look like it did the day it came off the showroom. I contacted Brent of Vintage Vendor. Boy am I glad I did. I enjoyed the nearly daily e-mails with photo’s of the step by step process he uses from prep right thru finish buffing. I got a great paint job at a common mans price. Thanks again, Brent

After reading all of these posts, I guess all I can say is "ditto"! :D

I emailed Brent about painting my 74 Commando and he sent me an incredible amount of pictures showing different Norton paint schemes he had completed in the past. Not only could I look at different color combos I had in mind, but I could actually see the colors on the same tank I was having painted. Once I chose the color combination and sent off my tins to Brent, he provided all sorts of "in progress" pictures of the work as he completed it. I had the tank and side covers back in my hands in record time. Whereas I've gotten used to working with shops that take forever when working on vintage equipment, Brent was fast, professional, and provided excellent communication.

I just rescued a 1981 HD Sturgis from a shed this week, and those tins will end up with Brent in short order. When I mentioned the future work to Brent, guess what he emailed me? Pictures of a previous Sturgis paint job he had completed for a customer. Too cool.

Anyway, add me to the list of satisfied customers.

I purchased a tank and side cover set from Brent and am very satisfied with the items I received. He was very easy to deal and I plan on using him for future paint. Below is a picture of the tank and covers mounted in fire flake blue.

Brent,
The Triumph tank looks great. Thanks so much for the hard work and job done with pride. You don't see much of that these days. I brought the tank and a couple of your cards to my local bike shop. People were impressed. Hopefully it will get you a couple more jobs. Thanks again.

Brent feel free to post this acknowledgement of your great work where ever you
please.

I can’t sing the praises of Brent of the Vintage-Vendor enough for the paint job
he did on my 1977 Bonneville. He was able to contact Don Hutchinson who is the
guru of Triumphs and come up with the exactly correct color and tank layout for
my bike. He was always easy to contact and communicate with. Not only is his
craftsmanship and attention to detail spot on, the turn around time for getting
my tank back to me was unbelievable. I get complements on the paint job
everywhere I go. Thanks Again Brent.

Well my stuff arrived today and what can I say. Anyone who is thinking of getting Brent to paint any of their stuff doesn't have to look any further. He is great to deal with, communicates often and send pic's through out the process and very reasonably priced. I needed a new tank as mine was damaged badly, so the cost of the tank, paint, and I shipped him my side covers was less than the cost of me to get a tank/side covers painted here in Edmonton. WOW It loos great and thank you so much Brent. You are truly an artist.

Is it only on the early style sidecovers that the angle of the decal on the sidecovers isn't supposed to follow the angle of the top edge of the sidecover, or is it all the Roadster sidecovers?

wrong angle:

In speaking with the guys at Classic Bike experience, here in Vermont, I had this very discussion a few months back. On those early side covers, the lettering should be parallel with the bottom edge, not the top one. The later steel covers have top and bottom edges that are already parallel, so no issues there, unless they are just mounted crooked. The ones you have pictured were going wih the top edge, very common mistake. I have a set of early glass covers like yours, just painted, that are correct. Send me an e-mail and I can foward the pics to you.

Hi Brent,
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how pleased I am with the
quality of your work on my 72 Bonneville. Your communication,
progress/update pictures, and advice throughout the process was both
unexpected and welcome. I won't hesitate to recommend you to anyone I meet
who needs new paint for their bike. Thanks again for the exceptional work.
Best Regards,

Brent,
Do you leave the filler neck unfinished metal or do you put a clear coat over it? It clearly isn't painted, but what do you do for potential rust?

JF

Jeff,
Regarding the filler necks, I strip them when I strip the paint off the tanks. They get masked up when the tanks get painted. Then when I buff the paint, I buff the neck. And that is how it is left. An occasional polishing or fine steel wool should keep it clean. A light film of petroleum jelly might help as well. A coat of clear, just like paint will only flake off from use, so that does no good. I have found the "naked" neck to be the simplest solution.
Regards,
Brent

Communications......

This is all too much taken for granted in the online commerce world. When we deal with what we consider precious objects in the hands of others, communications always seems to be lacking. Not so with Brent at Vintage Vendors. I was concerned of the progress and tracking of my 1974 Norton Tank, side covers & fenders that brent painted, but my worries did not exist with brent. Send him your stuff and you will be informed.
Now the quality of Brent's work has been spoken about with all the posts above. But adding to the accolades seems redundant but it isn't. I waited until i found a painter who could do the job on a level I consider ultra perfect. My restoration will be several thousands of dollars and the paint was the primary key to a great looking bike. As an Airline Captain I am used to peak performance with whom I deal with and brent exceeded expectations in all areas. I will continue to champion Brent's work to others because the quality is very impressive.

Sincerely,

Brent just finished painting the tank and panels for my '74 Commando and I received the parts yesterday. I'm extremely happy with both the paint job and the communication with Brent. He kept me updated with photos through the entire process which was very quick. I'll be packing up the tank and panels from my '75 Commando to sent to Brent within the next couple of weeks. I just need to decide whether to go with factory colors or do a custom color. Thanks Brent!

I had the Classic Bike Experience guys build me a 850 cafe this year. Brent did the painting and I couldn't be happier. It turned out beautifully and draws a comment whenever people see the bike. Not only was the paint quality superb, but Brent was integral in the design of the paint scheme, as well as a voice in the general build design. This guy just has an eye for what is "right." (He also drives a mean Supra!)

BTW, I couldn't be more pleased with how the bike turned out and my experience with the entire team at CBE. Welby Reynolds is responsible for the build and was a pleasure to work with and a real master.

Take a look!

Jim,
Beautiful bike. And you're correct, it looks 'right'. Sometimes you see bikes that are a collection great parts but they just don't seem to click. Like well played notes but no music. Gotta ask you about the mufflers and the tires.
