Hi you all.
Except looking for a bent, what are other signs that a pushrod have reached is life expectancy?
I mean, we rebuild engines, after measurements: rebore, new pistons and rings, sometimes new valve guides and valves etc. What about the pushrods? Some light on that issue would be useful. Thank you.:)

Most scuffs are on upper section of push rod aluminum shafts are caused by not getting the ball in the socket when bringing the head down and torquing up then turning it over. The two pushrods exhaust and intake clash.

If it is all aligned proper and as long as they get oil they should be fine. They don't wear much. Check for length discrepancy between exhaust and intake. Check for loose ball and sockets by pulling on them. I used kibble white push rods since rebuild but have not seen cracking issues yet, as some members have claimed. Your stock OEM push rods should be fine.
cheers,
Tom
