Primary fluid and type question

Hi all,

I sold my brother in law my Mark3 many years.

He is about to embark on a little fix up campaign.

Are we still saying to use ATF type F in the mark3 primary and I remember it calling for a higher fluid level than the previous models, how many ounces?

From my own personal experience, I would not recommend using ATF in a Mk3 primary as I found it did not damp the hydraulic primary chain tensioner effectively which led to excessive primary chain snatching at low RPM, and that 20W/50 engine oil (as recommended in the handbook) was preferable to ATF.

Just fill to the level plug.
