Thanks for your replies so far I have started another thread SHORIA OR BALLISTIC FOR ALTON STARTER if anyone would like to take a look and add your comments to it. As far as match the batter to stator out put goes the size of batter does not affect the load on the char system unless it is low or flat an is taking power to charge back up. The amps used by lights an ignition system once the engine is running are what charge system must replace plus the power used by electric starter if fitted. So using e.starter an lights on at low engine speeds means charging system can't keep pace and the battery will have to supply the short fall till revs and thus charging system output increase to the point where demand is ment (including recharging now drained battery). So the bigger output of battery the bigger the safe net it can provide. If you don't have e.start tho you only have light horn an ignition system then your power needs are far less or taking long rides at low high enough engine speeds to keep pace with demand.
