Al Osborn sells a modern replacement capacitor.

Should be no worries about running across the output of the box, as this is exactly how the original would have been wired. Just make sure of polarity if it's an electrolytic cap (typically). One question, though; is that, in fact, a 2200 pf capacitor? Maybe 2200 mf?gripper said:I tend to run with my lights on and have a 8AH battery fitted. I have a 22000pf capacitor that I intended to fit to my rotary Norton, (now sold) I could wire this across the output of the powerbox to smooth out the gaps in voltage delivery. Would that be a good idea? is there a down side?

1 mF (millifarad, one thousandth (10−3) of a farad) = 1000 μF = 1000000 nF
1 μF (microfarad, one millionth (10−6) of a farad) = 1000 nF = 1000000 pF
1 nF (nanofarad, one billionth (10−9) of a farad) = 1000 pF
1 pF (picofarad, one trillionth (10−12) of a farad)

I think they retail around £60.00 in the UK so they should be a little cheaper in the US

Can anyone tell me if these would be OK , or point me in the direction of a quality part .
