I want the side covers for my original black roadster and will trade a set of nice repainted ones plus for the ones on this bike. As I want to get an original factory painted set to match the original fuel tank. So if someone is interested I could help with the purchase. But the big "if" .....are they original?

The seller has contacted me and is allowing me to contact the new owner, so maybe I will be able to save the original side covers!:)
 
Does the Craigslist bike have its original tank too? If so, then why break up someone else's original bike? Keep looking.
 
Latest news, I think I have the covers coming:D it was a journey for sure, and will follow up on the experience once I have them in my hand
 
Got the covers , I am about 75% sure that they are original 850 roadster factory pinstriped painted covers. Heres the deal,,,, they are fiberglass!:confused: I didn't ask and they didn't tell me, my bad!)So I'm not real sure they are factory, sure looks like factory pinstripes though , did the factory deliver 850 roadsters with glass side covers?

Yup. Bought mine new from W.I.W. in Minneapolis in '74. Steel tank and glass side covers. Still run them.
