I'm needing to know what the thread pitch is for the screws that hold on the point cover.
I got some 10-32's and 10-24's but neither will go. I need these screws for a Lucas RITA cover.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

It's 2BA, really close to the 10-32.
The same size as the Amal carb cap and float bowl screws. Even the Amal idle and mixture screws. And the gearbox inspection cover.

It is possible to run a 10-32 tap into the points plate pillar bolts and then use 10-32 Allen head screws to retain the points cover. If original threads are messed up.

That was quick! I'm going to take Bob's advice and run a 10-32 tap in the pillar bolts tomorrow.
I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again for the quick help. You guys rock!

Regards, Don

The 10-32 tap worked fine with a dribble of WD40 for tapping fluid.
Thanks again for your help.

Lots of Brit bike places have 2ba bolts, screws etc.. You can always buy them from britishfasteners.com The people there are super helpful & nice. I think they are in New York.
