I am in the process of finishing some wiring on my 72 Commando. I am using a 3 phase charging system with a podtronics and an Improving Classic Motorcycles charge light. Beings I am bypassing most of the original charging system, I was just going to run a wire directly from the battery to post 1 on the ignition switch and the black wire from the podtronics directly to the battery. I am tapping into the white power wire that runs directly from the original warning light in the headlight shell to post 2 on the ignition switch to feed the new charge light. Do you see any problems with this wiring setup? Thanks, Josh

Yes, assuming that by "directly" you intend to use a fuse.

Yes, the Podtronics black (negative) wire can be connected directy to battery negative.

White is switched negative so according to the ICM instructions I don't see any problem with that even though the instructions say to connect the wire to the ignition switch terminal.

Thank you. Thats what I figured, but I always second guess myself. After seeing how much of the original harness is being bypassed, I probably would have been better building a new harness from scratch.
