I stripped the paint from the triple trees, headlight shell, ears, shrouds etc on the front end on my 1968 Norton. I was going to paint it using a rattle can, and thought PlastiKote Chassis and Grille Paint sounded like a good bet. It is a one part epoxy, and apparently quite tough. Then I read the instructions and recoat times are less than 2 hours or MORE THAN TWO WEEKS. This sounds like a big problem if I need to sand out a run, etc. Anybody familiar with this paint? Or an alternative suggestion for a rattle can topcoat paint?

Ah the old days for PJI epoxy paint. Just put a hair dryer on it till most the smell stops and not hot enough to see vapors or blister then just be careful not to bump by sharp object forever more. It will cover better and protect rather longer nice than thiner rattle can.

Most catalyzed (epoxy) paints won't hold another coat if they're allowed to cure past a set time, so all that the two weeks tells you is that you have that long that it will reliably accept a second coat, so that's a good thing. It doesn't mean that it take two weeks to cure. You could probably do some touch-up sanding within 24-48 hours of coating.
