I think that the RH1 has 28.5mm inlet ports although it is listed as 30mm. I think, not sure. I think it is becoming common knowledge that to 30mm/28.5mm ports are giving better midrainge than the 32's. Threads like this are confirming this more and more.

Another thing is my 1.5" exhaust. They say it is tuned and is actually 3 to 4" longer than stock exhaust. I am very interested in the Viking 2 to 1 system. It comes in 1 5/8 and 1 3/8". Comnoz say that the 1 3/8 will better support my midrange monster. Winding it out is not necessary anymore and those pipe really look the business and allow for centerstand function.

Eddie, your testing may offer some info in this regard.

Does anyone have Dwaines tuning notes? I had a set but I lent them out. Never to be seen again. He r :lol: n an 850 MK3 & said that at Daytona it took the length of the back straight for the twin pipe boys to catch his 2 into 1 bike after the drive out of the turn. Still what it is all about for me. Pure Norton dive & midrange grunt.

Eddie, I suggest a few trips to the dyno might be necessary to find optimisation. If you are going to stay with the Maney system, it might be worth progressively increasing the advance on the cam. The first thing I did when building my 850 was soften the cam sprocket, and randomly broach two more keyways into it. I'm currently running 12 degrees advance on the standard 850 cam, however I've bought a combat cam and after I fit it, will be using 6 degrees advance. The bike is extremely loud even with the 2 into one pipe, due to the early exhaust opening points - however the bike pulls like a train. I've upped the overall gearing considerably to use the extra torque. It is very deceptive when you are riding the bike to try and detect when you should raise the overall gearing. You might believe the bike is giving it's best, however when you up the gearing slightly it accelerates faster.
