I have been asked to write an updated article for Roadholder on making the prestolite Mk3 starter / sprag reliable. (an update on my 2016 article, but with the photos included!)
I seem to remember that someone posted a photo showing the result of a sprag lock up that overspeeded the starter motor and destroyed the armature.
