I've done a few hundred miles on two Corbin seats, my ride buddy '71 and another '72 in Iowa to say they look cute but your butt may have another opinion after an hour or more.

Well there's your problem hobot. Did you fit the two Corbins on top of each other?
Meant to go side by side.

hobot, If I'm on this mother for an hour on public roads, it will be my last hour.
The rest I'll be watching kookaburras through a grated tiny window in the back of the cell.
I'm thinking three minutes max. That'll get me right around the Southern Highlands and
back safe in the shed before anyone even notices I'd left. Switch after burner off,
Go have a cuppa.

Shame genuine Dunstalls are a thing of the past. Last combat of mine had stainless steel de baffled pea shooters. A beautiful bark, then snarl on change up.

Black Cap Silencers (also avail. stock size) - http://www.vikingexhaust.com/getPart.asp?id=37

Also gortnipper, what happens to the centre stand?
I think I know the obvious answer.
I've had so many Jap bikes with no centre stand it is a piss off.
But I only ever use it when back home from riding.
A separate rock on stand would be fine with me.

The Corbin seat is the best comfort related bit you can buy. Beautifully shaped and when I was living in Geraldton, a quick 420 kilometer trip to Perth was just fine. You also don't need rearsets because it positions your butt correctly and you've got a bumstop so you are not constantly gripping the tank with your knees. They are also available as a two seater, so check out that option.

Plus you don't slide off under hard acceleration :D

Double post...okay...the Corbin seat looks like it belongs on the Commando. Other opinions I know just my opinion.

The way I plan to accelerate den,
I'll be welding the seat on so the whole shootin match don't slide off the back, me on it!!

Phil,

Take a look at the front brake on the Commando in the link that Gortnipper put up for the Black Cap Silencers. It has a drilled rotor with Lockheed caliper. This is an option that would give you better braking with stock parts. I think there are some better pads you can buy also. Then you could keep it on the left side.

I really like the 2 into 1 Dunstall set up.
Is there a power improvement with 2 into 1 into 2? I did fit 2 into 1 only, black horrible thing years back after smashing originals. Looked awful and sounded way too loud.
Would you have a photo of them fitted to a bike?

I didn't look through the site but I presume there is a contact number there.
Is it your company or business?

Phil
NO, this isnt my company - they are down the road from Auckland in Hamilton. No idea of the power differentials, if any.

Not sure of the centre stand for the 2-1-2. If you look at the 2-1, it says that it can be kept, but those look like they are a different setup. http://www.vikingexhaust.com/getPart.asp?id=41

Yes den,
I saw exactly that and will be asking questions about it. But I think the rotor was standard size. I doubt the holes in a rotor would do anything more than the holes in someone's (no names mentioned) primary chain case.
Absolutely nothing!
But I'll go back there and have a closer look.

Oh I see,
pipes made by a kiwi??
Hmm, change of plan I think.
Sorry matey, you know I don't mean that :)

2 into 1 into 2 looks good, can do without centre stand provided I can get a separate race style gizmo.
Thanks for the info.
I'll chance them up.
Only a short swim across the Tasman to see them.

Yes indeed gortnipper
The British Bikebits version looks real nice too.
I'm regularly in touch with them and buy things when BJ's in Brisbane are out of stock of something.
Both give really great service.
I wish you hadn't shown me this.
I have serious trouble making decisions when confronted with more than one item.
Even then I struggle.

Sandy Campbell, owner of StainTune Exhausts is a good mate of mine, lives just down the road from me, factory also. He might be able to make up a performance exhaust system for me, styling as I want. It would be a one off for them but Sandy is pretty keen on British bikes himself. They also have a dyno there for testing maximum power output for different designs. I've bought at least two Beemer exhaust systems off them before. I was very happy with them.

Sandy, myself and others used to drink at the Surveyor General in Berrima, and talk Nortons, Triumphs etc etc all night. Then the pub owner told us eating hamburgers out front was taboo so we all climbed on our bikes and pissed off. Never returned. I ended up at the Mitta. Not sure where everyone else went.

ITS OUT . B M W s ,  Outrage . Itll be HONDAs next .   :P

Love Honda's.
First one a 50cc Honda Step thru when I was 15. Made number plates cut out of lead and painted numbers on them with oil paints. Copied the number off the front cover of a Two Wheels magazine with Marti Dunstan on a Yamaha DT-1. Still have the magazine. Rode around on that thing with my brother (mostly at night) until old enough to get on my Unapproachable Norton Dominator with fresh new L plates. Honda make good machinery.

My first two bikes were Hondas in the early 80s, a 400T and then a V45. Got rid of the V45 when I got my mk3 - never really missed it.

I actually loved that stupid little bike. It even had electric start believe it or not. It didn't work.
Dad bought me a tiny battery for my birthday. Still didn't work.
Norton borrowed the design for the MkIII.
Still didn't work.

Do you not think you're taking it a bit far with these mufflers phil?

Hmm
Yes maybe I am getting a bit carried away auldblue.
But someone forgot to cut exit holes in these two. After half an hours riding they will swell.

So, 1 3/8 headers with balance pipe (adds power) and pea shooters seems the best outcome for me.
Gunna ring the boys in NZ next week. Apparently they have cheap (Thailand) pea shooters and more expensive pommy (I believe) pea shooters. Paul Bryant at Viking can make a whole S/S system for those interested.
