Old Britts has a diagram of the parts involved in each section of their parts catalog. Basically, it seems like the same thing, just organized a bit differently. Old Britts is set up pretty much like the factory Norton parts manual which I believe can be downloaded though I don't know where - I bought the paper copy because it's much handier in the shop than fooling with the computer.

http://www.oldbritts.com/ob_start.html go to "Norton" then scroll down and select the year Commando you are interested in.

Mike, you Luddite!

I have a paper copy, but I always go to Old Britts cause I find it much easier to get to the right plate quickly.

New word for me too!
LUDDITE, meaning; person opposed to industrial progress or new technology(such as computers)
Foxy

Yep, I'm very Luddite- like in some ways, not in others. I like paper service/shop manuals because i can't handle a laptop while all greasy/dirty and a nicely dog-eared, grease finger-printed paper manual makes my mechanical world "right!"

OTOH, I use my Kindle, iphone, desktop and laptop constantly, my Nikon DSLR constantly BUT on yet another hand, I have recently gone back to shooting film a good bit. And I like the sound of tube (valve) amplifiers...

Nice thing about the current age is that I can pick and choose the time and object of my Luddite-ism! And what could possibly be more Luddite-like than a Norton Commando...especially since I can't afford and have no space for one of these: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... 29,r:0,s:0
