Anyone know of good sites which list the pain history for the Norton Commando? Would like to learn what colours and colour combinations were used in 71.

Thanks,

Mike Tettenborn

I'm certain this (pain) is a typo. If not, this site will provide plenty.

Identifying the colors is easy. Matching them is another story.

From 1971 Parts Manual

British Racing Green - Fastback and Fastback LR (Black side covers)
Signal Red - Fastback, Fastback LR (Black side covers) and Roadster
Fireflake Royal Blue - Fastback (Black side covers) and Roadster
Fireflake Golden Bronze - Fastback (Black side covers) and Roadster
Solid Canary Yellow - Roadster and SS (Black side covers)
Solid Signal Orange - Roadster
Fireflake Roman Purple - Roadster
Solid Black with gold lining - Roadster
Solid Tangerine - SS (Black side covers)
and of course solid white and solid black for Interpol tanks

I had an NOS Fireflake Royal Blue fastback tank and an NOS Fireflake Golden Bronze fastback tail section years back and never could find a matching tank or tailsection so wound up painting them both Signal Red

Perfect!

Thank you very much for this info.

I think signal red is going to be the choice.

Cheers,

tett
