Nice find!

Ole Rusty

Wow a Dunstall racer, using only one disk. Odd.

Welcome to the forum.

Great barn find!

Realistically, it'll cost less to do a teardown and overhaul NOW, instead of after the engine blows up.

It would be a shame to do otherwise.

GP,
I don't know if MelloYellow wanted to hear that, but I sure did!

Regardless of what you decide to do with that tank if you are going to seal it. I would get the gas out of it now! If the gas you put in to run has methanol in it, it will start its work on the tank right away. If the tank has been sitting for thirty years without gas even better. But if the gas starts to wick into the structure you are not doing yourself any favors. Just my two cents...

and for the record...Norvil has alloy fastback tanks. I know nothing about the quality. They are about 670 USD.

Hi guys -
Thanks for all the input! I know that everybody has opinions on the gas tank sealer deal, I'll wade thru all of it and figure out what to do. Thanks also for the "barn find" sentiments - I was in the right place at the right time (and happened to have my truck :D ) Now I need to find that barn down the street that has a 1958 18' Chris-Craft Cobra with the 392 hemi under a tarp.....
Grandpaul, I hear you loud and clear - real easy miles right now are the order of the day until a decision is made on the right way to go.
T95, I couldn't agree more! The original mufflers had rusted thru completely, and were destroyed upon removal. I got that set from Raber's (used, rusty, and cheap) - and they looked so good I almost sent them back for a refund!

Cheers to all , all the great restoration work I see on this site is an inspiration -
