Oil pump service problem

Just looking at my oil pump (1968)

The problem is I need to remove the little metal spigot on the pump body that the conical seal goes on so I can face the pump body properly. Don't want to attack it before I get some advice.

It looks like it is just press fit in? Have tried gripping it with pliers but it's not moving. Thinking about heating body then give the sight a blast with freeze spray to shrink it.

Just need to know if you can remove it and how it comes out before I have a go.

Yes, the spigot is normally a light press-fit.

I have done a lot of oil pump research and a bit of servicing, I have a method for doing the extraction on the later pumps . It is a 6mm round rod that comes from the underside of the pump. The round rod has flats on it to allow entry to the oval hole. On the earlier round hole pumps you need 2 pieces....a 6mm pusher plug and a small round punch to enter the round hole.

I've used a sharpened clam knife and light hammer (gently) for that purpose.

Just tapped it out from the back using a small punch.
