dear All,
I would like to do the oil filter upgrade to my 750 Commando Roadster Year 1973:
how to? where to buy? what to do? :?:
.. suggestions are welcome!
thanX.. :D

You can purchase the oil filter mounting base for the later Commando and drill two holes in the cradle to mount the original spin on filter.

Or you can buy this filter and put it in the return oil line. It has the correct element and a bypass valve with a magnet for steel particles. Just make sure it doesn't rub on something that could put a hole in it.

Depends on when it was built. I have seen bikes built in 1971 registered in 73 because that is when they finally got sold. I own a 68 N15 that is registered as a 71 because that is when I bought it. Jim

And I have run an inline trans filter on it every since the first time it had a little failure and the resulting metal wiped out the whole motor.

The inline filter! Holy smokes! And a magnet too!

Great tip Jim,
Thanks
Russ

Do you just cut the return line and plumb the oil filter in, or do you run it off somewhere remote and zap it down?

On my N15 it is just hanging in the line between the motor and tank. On my hot rod Commando I have it in a clamp under the battery box so I guess it just depends on where you have room. Jim

Jim, do you have the ACDelco part number handy?
The link takes you to a generic page.
Cheers

Dave
