Apparently Slick shifty has been reformulated and now has a new additive than PTFE...Also another possible reason for their absence is this

Well there you go…all that glitters etc etc

Here is a destructive test with 2 air cooled engines 1 treated with SK50 & one with 30W oil....

Not promoting Slik50 in any way, and it may not have made that much (if any) difference, but why didn't he stick to manufacturers recommendation re: mixture percentage??
Un familiar with the correct mixing ratio but he did add 4 fluid onces or 118.28 milliliters of SK50 mixed with 30w oil to fill the crankcase...
My conclusion is you cant go past a quality oil that is changed regularly ...I generally reach for the snake oil as a last resort to squeeze a few more hours out of something that is potentially f☆☆ked in the hope of a miracle 😀

Yes, I buy all that, but as the poster of that video he DID know (and quoted) the correct amount.... and then used twice the manufacturers figure........ Which to me totally invalidates the results and his credibility.

But, as mentioned, not an 'end of the world' scenario, might not have made any difference, just a suggestion of not very 'scientific' :)

Ah... I get what you mean now...👍

I was a big fan of Active 8 and still suspect it’s good in certain applications.

But my take away from Sir Comnoz’ testing was that you can’t take owt for granted, and unless you test it with the specific oil of your choice, it may make things better, it may make things worse.

I don’t use it anymore.

Jim's testing found some inexpensive oils that far outperformed some very expensive oils.
From that, you dont have to use additives or expensive oils to maintain the engine.
