Hi all
I've just asked in the wanted section if anyone has or could point me in the direction of an alloy 7 3/8 bottom yoke.
I thought I had found one at Andover Norton but didn't recognise the part number. The listing also did not give a size? ie 7inch or 7 3/8. I asked & they told me it was closer to 7 3/4?
Has anyone heard of this size? If it's a one off, I would have to ask why? No wonder it's a good price! Lol forgot to see if there was a matching top yoke.

Is this the item you mean?

...it is for a Rotary, and the dimensions & geometry are totally different to a Commando.

The Commando stanchion spacing was the same right through production and was based on the 7 3/8" of the later roadholders as used on the slimline featherbed (dommie, manxman and atlas)

What year is your Norton? Bottom yokes are very different depending on year.

Hi geforce
That's the one. Never crossed my mind it was for a rotary.
Ed alloy 7 3/8 yokes are Dommie Atlas & all 750 Commandos ie 27degrees.
It's the stem length that differs with the Seeleys etc.
Just could not imagine what the 7 3/4 yoke could be from! Now I know.

Early 750 Commandos had the steering stem as part of the lower yoke. Later 750 Commandos had steering stem as part of upper yoke. What year is your Norton?

Madass used to sell alloy fork yokes with stem in lower yoke. Not sure whether they were good for early Commando.

Could be useful if you want to put twin discs with 4/6 pot calipers on the front. . . .

Midina Italia make Norton top & bottom yokes in 7" & 7 3/8" ctrs with the 2 1/4" offset. They are milled from 6082 & of high quality. I have fitted them to two bikes in the past couple of years. Also Minnovation make alloy yokes.

I use alloy Yamaha TZ350 yokes on my Seeley. The spacing of the stanchions and the diameters are correct for the era of the bike. But the yoke offset might not be what you want. As the offset is reduced, the bike tends to oversteer more. It can be a problem if you are relatively inexperienced, but good if you know how to use it.

Hi Matchless
I will phone Mdina as nothing is shown on there website. Looking for old style yoke for a period bike.
Thanks all
