Thanks for posting this link Hobot, I just spent an hour drooling over their bikes. The red Featherbed cafe, the red Norvin, the Internationals and Manx. Lust with a capital " L " I wonder who made the fork brace that is on that MKiii with the white tank w/stripes in the 2009 rally pictures. Looks very nicely made. Nice stuff all of it & thanks because I would never have bothered to go looking there myself, merry bleeding X-Mas. Glenn.

A lot of really well cared for Nortons.
The 2009 rally in the video was to Akaroa, a very pretty small town on a fantastic bay on Banks Peninsula, just to the south-east of Christchurch.
The town was settled by the French and has French street names but now its very Britsh/New Zealand.
Looks like the weather wasn't the best but you can see from these photos what a pretty ride it would be.

It was a damp weekend but dried out for the day ride.
The Inter was ridden to the rally from the upper North Island and home again after, good effort.
Sadly it all confirms that we have let the website get rather out of date. 2010 Northland rally has since been and gone and the entrys for the 2011 rally, at Monowai (on the edge of Fiordland, 4th- 6th Feb) are now open.

Well ntst8 I guess that means you should go. And if you went to the 2010 raly please post any pictures you have. Hobot thanks for clearing up who made the fork brace. Those Norvins both look so nice. I wonder how well they handle in the tight twisty stuff. I'm sure each one is differant.

I will defintely be there, just thought i would post for any locals who read this forum, aren't club members and might be interested.

Iain, the nznoc seems to have become a secret society, is there any imformation any where on the 2011 rally

ill second that, im in dunedin and wana go to that one, though after having the back wheel overtake me on christmas day im guna have to replace a few parts first.

The club newsletter has had info in the last 3 issues, not much help if you are not (yet?) a member though, and the website was set up so that we would not be a secret society but it is run by volunteers who have been busy keeping their heads above water this last year so sadly is a bit out of date.

The rally will be based at Borland Lodge, they have a website http://www.borlandlodge.co.nz.
Bookings are through the club, form attached below (you should be able to save as?) but i can email direct if that suits better. Be careful on fuel, especially if you ride a roadster, last fuel is either Mossburn or Otautau depending on which way you arrive.

The usual set up is arrive Friday afternoon for socialising, have a beer (or non alcoholic drink),tell the odd lie, or two. Dinner is provided.
Sat morn bike line up and judging for prizes later, later Sat morn an organised ride (sorry thought i had them but can't find details on that at the moment), return Sat pm for dinner, club AGM, awards and a few more lies/ales/whatever.

Sunday, hit the road whenever suits.
Hope that is of some help, and hope we can see you both there.

I have deigned a set of fork lowers that are cast as one with the integral brace. Should be quite solid & stable. One of these days, I'll meet someone who builds molds and casts parts, and have them make me a prototype...
