Did anyone go to the recent NZ Norton Owners' Club rally and has pix? Their web site's been non-operational for ages, which can't be good for encouraging new members. The most secret society you've ever heard of?

Well I can't take all the credit. Bought the Commando shortly after moving house and decided to do a few minor repairs before finishing unpacking. Kept taking bits off, one thing lead to another and soon I found myself in the middle of a full-blown restoration. It was sitting on wooden blocks when the February earthquake hit, ending up wedged under the saw bench in the far right corner. Left it there as it was safe enough to survive unscathed through the 11,000 aftershocks. Unlike our beautiful cathedral, most of the old churches, heritage buildings, hundreds of houses and 182 people.

i'm on the wrong computer at the moment but can post some later if no-one beats me to it.
The resurection of the website is one step closer since the rally, hopefully wont be too much longer

(edit) have had a play with some of the content of the new NOCNZ website this afternoon, someone more knowledgeble has set up the template and between us it will be expanded/refined over the next month or two.

I hope this isnt too large but here we go.
Lake Rotoiti (St Arnaud), a picturesque stop on the way to the rally

His riding companion, the engine internals have been well worked, both bikes ridden from the upper Nth Island and not by the direct route.

My ES2 had overcharging issues at the last moment so the took Multistrada yet again, it did allow me to ride the Rainbow Road on the way from Collingwood to Picton, have been wanting to ride this road for years.

There was a guy at the New Years Day run in Auckland with a CS1 he had just finished...same one?
An old boy I knew had one called it the 'Cricket Bat" Norton....hit and miss foot change.....

Could well be the same one, it came from up that way, and cant imagine there are too many just back on the road.
I have shown the primary side but if you google a pic of the timing side the cricket bat name will make sense .
I have never ridden one but am told they can be used either had or foot change depending on where the lever is set, but no positive stop - the Takaka Hill must have been something of a challenge.
