Here is my young bloke proudly astride the Commando, together with my younger son we attended a two day Rally in central NSW Australia. Adam the one in the photo was pillion for the day, and Damon ended up riding shot gun in a friends BMW outfit. The photo is at a very presitigious school grounds, soon after the shot was taken there were 5 Commando's and approximately 109 other makes and models from 1912 to present day. The weather was typical for NSW at present, with a fine morning and midday with storm oclock approaching at around 3pm. We travelled 160 km this day, and before we had some beverages in our hands back at base we had wet tails.
The bike went like a train, the new JS pistons are bedding in nicely with 600 miles on now. The engine is very smooth, on smooth ground the whole bike is a treat as I balanced the wheels with a new workshop toy. But the front forks are, well bumpy, however in the next couple of weeks one of Mr. Boulds kits should rectify that department. There is nothing quite like a country road with a sweet running Commando and a few lesser machines to whizz past in third whilst they are struggling in top!
Cheers Richard
