Shoot, just needs a dusting off and some fresh gas, it was running when he parked it!

That'll buff right out. And I'm sure it ran when parked!

Love how the bushes are growing right through it.

... but I didn't pay $1500 for the lump to start with!!

Amen to that! But the sad / scary / amazing thing is that somebody probably will pay that for it these days.

It will make a great before and after set of photos, You never know what parts are even good so that does seem too much to pay. But that being said If I lived close I would haul it off for a small fee. LOL Chuck.

POSSIBLY worth $1,500, but no way of knowing FOR SURE without taking the bloody beast apart.

That is the SECOND worst commando I've seen!

By the way, Bill, I'd almost bet this one is the same bike, it came from Jax...

It's not done, but it is running...

That's my Interstate tank and a temporary front brake lever setup, still waiting on tank, seat & rearsets from RGM.

My '71 Commando would probably come in 3rd place for worst commando restoration start that ran when parked. Just now getting started for a long term project that I will probably do a step by step thread.

My ex-wife picked out that color 24 years ago, road the bike one season, now getting ready for complete restoration, new color will be copper tone like that of the old schwinn stingray I had as a boy.
