I had been considering titling my Triton as a Triton, that cinches it. My local tax collector is a friend that has seen me run about 40 of the 60 bikes I've titled through her office; the rest were before she got elected.

Should be an open and shut case!

The answer to your frame number is very simple. if you are not a member of the Norton owners club then join and their dating expert will advise you on your frame an provide you with dating letters for registration . they did for mine which like your yours is drilled was drilled out also they can check factory records they have against the number. Mine was less readable than yours an is a triton but they are very helpful and knowledgeable. They will also explain the front engine mount the size and shape will tell you what engine that frame was made for.
