I bought a good fuel tank to fit my project N15CS and it doesn't fit, the mounts at the front are way too high and the frame hits the underside of the tank.
Can anyone help with this? The tank looks correct, but it must be for another model. Here are some photos:

Any suggestions please?

The parts book shows the same tank for an N15CS & a P11A. I have taken a tank off of a P11A & the underside looks almost exactly the same as yours and the welding on your tank seems a bit better than what you find on most repop tanks. So I think the problem may lay elsewhere. There are rubbers that fit inside the front mounting tubes and they stick out about 5/8" which would take up some of the space. Also the current tank alignment seems a bit odd as the base of the tubes does not appear to be level with the frame tank support.

Don't know if you see what I see on Google images on close up of the gas tank on motorcycle classics.com 1967 Norton /Matchless N15cs motorcycle classics , there is a rubber then penny washer then another thinner rubber bolted underneath. Cannot give you the website address as computer is on the blink.

The petrol tank sits too high and the tank is too small. Also, the front part appear not to have the correct shape.
To me it looks like the fixing tubes are not in-line either. Probably a re-pop.

The petrol tank should look like this:
