Norton Manxman genesis

I will check the engine to better understand if as expected is a 650cc.
Any advice on how recognize a 650cc engine,s from a 600cc without breaking it?

easy all 650s were stamp marked 18 next to the end of the camshaft tunnel left hand side the model 99 ie (600) were stamp marked 14 in the same place, OK first ever production 650cc machine was Number 18-93601-shop number 7 built on November 7th 1960 with its other mates of some 30 motorcycle all built on the same day the first week there was a bach of 150 these when into stores on liverpool dock for the next batch to join them making some 300 for the first batch to the Usa by the 25th of january 1961 the launch date - early february new york motorcycle fare 1961 now 18-93601 shop 7 unearth and sold On

I suspect your 600 has 650 Manxman tank e.t.c. fitted as only the 650 was known as the Manxman.

The 597cc featherbed framed Model 99 Dominator was introduced in 1956, as a larger capacity version alongside the 500 cc

the Model 99 600cc was introduced on september 1955 for the 1956 season

this Book written by alan cathcart is very most likely to be second hand information taken from earlier book written
