Norton Dominator 99 with K2F magneto

You cannot hurt anything by switching the wires on the ammeter. The meter should move the opposite way thereafter.

I can’t see your bike, so it may be more complicated if for instance, there is more than one wire attached to an ammeter terminal and some are on the right terminal and some on the wrong one.

Hello,

There is only one wire per terminal at the ammeter. If i remember correctly the positive wire from rectifier was attached to the wire that goes from battery + to ammeter (ignition key between ammeter and battery). It continued from the ammeter to the light switch and so on.

I believe that i have now connected the rectifier + to the positive wire that goes from light switch to rear/tail light, so its now kinda on the wrong side of the the ammeter than it was earlier, but since i had only two wires at the ammeter i switched them around so it works for now.

Went for a short ride finally today, works okay i will look forward to modify slightly the advance curves to get the best riding experience. I checked that dominator 99 has power peak at 7000rpm, so i set the rev limiter to 6500.

The 99 power peak is more like 6800 and you would do well to use it sparingly ,its not like a modern machine that can run for extended periods near max power. The vibration can be destructive and the rods are prone to fatigue after a long life. Spare cases and cranks abound, but barrels are a different matter.

Hello,

I have to admit that i dont like to run my bike at such high revs so i did lower it down to either 5800rpm or 6000rpm.

Im only riding this at nice weathers and mainly at the city, so i tend to ride it calm.

Edit: About setting proper valve clearance, is it okay method to set both in and ex valve clearances at compression stroke TDC? When both valves are not compressed at all. Or what should be the correct method?
