norton ads

So I was watching some commando vids on youtube, and at the end of one there is a naked woman laying down on one. Everyone knows their ads are kind of sensual tongue in cheek, but anyone know the story behind this one?

It seems they have taken it off! It was exactly like this one only longer www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu_KgNKqVOs. The last ad in the other version had a naked woman lying on a roadster slightly outta focus so you couldn't see detail.

I don't think that it is from a period Norton ad. I downloaded it some time ago thinking that it might be a clue to a Commando brochure or advert that I don't have an original of but it falls down on several points -

1) Nortons didn't do nudity - they didn't need to because they had Hot Pants !

2) All the 1970s totty that I remember wore platforms and not stillettos.

3) I can't see an air filter.

4) Bike looks like a 1973 850 but there appears to be no pinstriping on tank or panels

My guess is that this is from a much later photoshoot but I don't know the source. If any young ladies wish to emulate the pose on a white or Tangerine Roadster or indeed a red Fastback LR, my machines would be available at short notice

I think the rear indicators may be aftermarket ? But I'd have to see a rear view to be sure. Please post a rear view.

I doubt there is any hair to split on that girl except on her head (in french there is a distinction as to where the hair is, cheveux = hair on the head, poils = anywhere else ) :lol:

I have no idea who is Shanda, but it is obvious it is a marriage made in heaven. Nice girl and nice bike

I would agree with 79x100 that the Norton Company didn't do nude ads. I have that picture along with a Castrol Production Racer, Superbike centerfold Dee Ivens and a HR Pannier ad on my garage wall. That showed breast's only. Hope this doesn't make me pervert. I've been collecting Norton memorabilla for awhile now and have lots of other posters with clothed girls on Norton's. :mrgreen:

The picture below is one I really like (also nice as wallpaper !) but I don't think the girl was born yet when the bike was made. Fascinating how photography styles change over the years. Only Norton bikes themselves are timeless.
