Nikasil coating

I would look into nickel plating a bore. The plating thickness can be enough to bring an over bore back to stock. It is expensive, but is a million mile solution.

Nickle plating has the greatest tendency to 'double-coat' of any type of plating. Especially if the substrate contains nickel.

I know with two-strokes, some people were fanatical about bore clearance. However that was prior to inlet ports being bridged and piston skirts used to break. I have never worried about bore clearance on a four-stroke. I just fit new piston rings. A loose motor is usually faster. If the motor rattles or misses, it needs to be fixed
