That's a big f'n brake. Looks like one of Emery's.

I beleive the Fastback belongs to a person who has emigrated from England and is 1 owner from new.

That's a pretty fair turn out Possum, and some lovely stuff.
Not sure if the bike in pic #5 is an 88 or a 99 but it's very nice, I love those early mufflers.
The red Atlas is what got me going back in 69, my first boss after I left school, had one.
The Maroon 850 is eye catching also.
And the 650ss, sorry mate, they are just before my time so I'm not sure if your's is there,
but there is a very fine Slimline Dominator in the second to last photo.
Beautifull stuff.
This is why Norton owners are Norton owners.

Went for a ride over the hill to have a look at some bikes, ask girl at servo if she had seen any silly old fools on old motorbikes no only seen bikes going to motor cross, THEY COULD HAVE PUT A SIGN UP OR EVEN BETTER,UPDATE THE WEBSITE. Nice day for a ride although it was a bit windy,I suppose I could always learn the secret hand shake and conform to member ship.

Sorry you missed out.
The website will be under control in the coming months, we had a kind offer from one of the members at the rally to do a start from scratch update so that we have a much easier to manage site. The current one is far from easy to work with, and when volunteers get busy the difficult things tend to be let slip.
There was a sign at the gate entry to the accommodation, but last time we put a banner at the main road frontage on a rally site some scuzzballs stole it, so we are a bit wary.
The servo at the Sth end of town was getting all the action.
Always happy to hear from prospective members, only $30 per year, a bargain.

Thanks for posting the Fireflake Golden Bronze Fasback possm. Kind of gives me an idea what my current project will look like down the road.

Ya reckon they heard I was cominig and run off to hide ?

Nearly went out to Pongaroa but found some new roads to look at, genuine NZ stringless tennis raquet country.

I left on my own from Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, down to Gisborne ,East Coast, collected 3 x mates with Commnados there, rode down to Hasting, Hawkes Bay and collected 2 x members with Commnados and 1 x Suzuki Bandit(American guy who now owns his Dads Commando but is in bits, hence the Bandit) then all of us to the rally with 4 x bikes via Parongahau in the wet. Rest of the rally was ridden in fine weather but windy. Excellent first rally for me thanks to all who organised. Rode home to Bay of Plenty with 2 x other members on Commandos (different guys from firts group I travelled with (with the Bandit in tow) via the central North Island, Desert Road then the Western Access of Lake Taupo to Rotorua then back to Tauranga via the Pyes Pa road. Total trip length for me including rally ride was 817 miles or 1325 kms and the only thing that happened to my bike was I donated my rear number plate to the Waioeka Gorge Road north of the Gisborne leg SH2!!!! Have the stubs under the bolts to prove to the law it was there at some stage!!!

Nice pictures, venue looks great, was there many sporting the Lansdowne Dampers?

Mine seemed to be the only ones John, but plenty of interest in them and have forwarded the site link to those who are keen.
Looks like i need to change to 10 weight oil though.

I could have doubled that number, it's a good ride down past Porangahau in the dry, but normally windy

Mike, sounds like you covered some nice roads, and only a lost number plate, that's PURE mate
Thanks to the other guys for posting the porn. So how did the forks work for you, smooth? I am mucking around with my standard set up, with home made damper cups for more rebound and comp damping. I tried 10wt and have now moved to 7.5wt and back to the original springs from progressive.

i found the dampers gave me a lot more confidence especially with the variable road conditions NZ has and also in the wet.
had 20 wt oil in them for the trip,as that is what I had in stock, draining them now and going to 10wt and will post feedback.
very happy with them though. Excellent rally, next years one will be at the top of the South Island somewhere.
Good to see all the bikesshow up from all over NZ.

Looks like a good weekend away, might have to pencil it in for next year...been busy getting my Pukekohe old fart bucket list entry together this month.... :roll:

yes we did but the girls were on their 'off' day!!!!!
