I called the Barcelona Ducati dealer who's the oficial importer and dealer for Spain. After first calling them in February about the bikes, they have just said that the Sport has just passed the homologation process ... at last. And will probably be used as a test bike.

The bad news is that the €17000 Price tag quoted in February is now a probable €19000 TBC :(

The other two models still pending homologation due to the handlebars being too wide or something.

Jury's still out on whether I make the effort or not. Exclusivity is without doubt.

How can bikes that are Eruo 3 homologated, have to go through the process again in Spain? What you are being told is wrong.

No. Believe it. Sadly, it IS true. Spain has its own strict rules and the problem isn't the emissions. It's other seemingly picky regulations about the size of the mirrors or width of the handlebars and good knows what. The dealer hasn't called me and they know I'm interested. Based on them not being able to get the bikes through the MOT in such a long time and not following up on an interested customer, it doesn't bode well. :(
