Hi
I've bought a 1974 Norton Commando which has been notified to HMRC by the NOVA and taxes paid ..

Next step is to register with DVLA to get an age related plate?
Is this form V55?
Lots of question I don't know the answer too but where is the best place to get the a certificate of manufacture in UK?
Can anyone suggest the route with DVLA to take? I read of potential problems and a lot of horror stories dealing with them...
Cheers

74 Norton may be problematical but start at NOC, its the record is missing then Andover Norton may have it. But Andover Norton are not recognised by the DVLA so if they issue a record then you have to pass it on to the NOC for the DVLA approved bit.

If the bike is pretty much as it left the factory with matching frame and engine numbers then.

NOC 2 https://www.nortonownersclub.org/records/noc2

if its a mix of years but the youngest is over 25 years then

NOC 3 https://www.nortonownersclub.org/records/noc3

Overall NOC on docs

Then you can do a V55/5, be aware there is a lot of answers left blank for an old bike on that form.

There are no rules for DVLA, they make the rules up to suit themselves, praying may help even if only for releasing the stress.

Don't answer the ones that you cannot or do not need to answer. Just leave those places blank.
I brought three bikes into UK and did not get any proof of age from NOC. Did not get a BW plate
though either. The whole thing went through quickly and without issue. I would make sure you have
a photo copy of everything you send them...everything.

When registering my imported Atlas I found the video, How to fill in a V55/5 form by Spanner Rash really helpful. Look him up on You Tube.
