Just wanted to say 'hello' to everyone here and thank you all for the interesting information. I live in a small Texas town named Bastrop, and have a 'few' Brit bikes. I am semi-retired, and have a shop behind my home that I use for restorations and repair of customers bikes and my own. My first motorcycle was a brand new 1972 Norton 750 Commando. I saved up my money and paid $1205.45 FOB! Old Mr. Krumm who owned the Indian-Norton-Kawasaki dealership on Barton Springs road had ordered a custom paint PURPLE METALFLAKE Commando with fiberglass tank and side covers...I fell in love right there! When it was prepped (I stood there while it was uncrated and assembled) I hopped on it, and rode down to Lamar Blvd. in Austin, where it sputtered and ran out of gas! Krumm was a cheapo. Only put about a half pint in the tank for prep! I will try to post more later. Happy to meet you guys,
Tim
