new rim & spokes - sequence to true after assembly

so i've done this before, its been awhile, the new rim and spokes are assembled, but i can't find my previous reference to true the rim. any suggestions?

i find conflicting info on line, = true side/side first, then true up/down, and another site says up/down first

i've got a some side to side to cure and much less up/down....

Front or rear, drum or disc?

just looked at Greg marsh's page, this rim isn't going to line up just by using the fingers....
