Buying Spondon makes sense, trying for more market w/o filling prepaid orders does not yet compute.

Is anyone still waiting for a prepaid bike?

I expect so. As that's part of the purchasing deal, the customer paying up front before the bike is built, was, and as far as I know, still is, part of the UK agreement.

It would seem the backlog of seriously overdue orders has now been cleared as I haven't heard any further instances of customers asking for refunds.

So then what is wrong with exporting now that all the whiny Brits would wanted on, have one?

This concept of paying a deposit up front does have some serious precendents - a doco on the Jag XJ220 mentioned that when it was announced in the late 1980s, Jaguars took 1500 deposits of £50,000 each, for a car that was slated to have a production run of only 350 cars....
