New Nortons

Couple of other tidbits -

I stopped by a local (San Diego) motorcycle shop, GP Motorcycles, which is now the official local Norton dealer. The guy at the counter said they expect to receive their first bike for a customer in July - three months away. I have no idea if they have taken any deposits, or if they have a realistic view of real delivery dates.

Also, just peeked at the Norton Motorcycles website http://www.nortonmotorcycles.com/news/?paged=2 and find it interesting (but not encouraging) that the latest news posted by the company is that their new lathe, delivered this week, just produced its first parts. Sure, they are probably just bringing some production in-house, but you would expect that their news postings would be about motorcycles being delivered to happy new owners, right?

I'd like to buy one, but will wait until I can see it in the showroom, take it for a test ride, and have some confidence in a warranty.

Hope that day comes.

The special funding they are getting sounds like ti requires them to hire more people internally and by bringing in work they currently contract is one of those ways. So they bought some machinery. Or at least that's a theory.

I've seen instances where a sharp accountant ended up owning the business.
