I will need to buy new boots soonish.
I like ones that come halfway, or a bit more, to my knee.
I currently have Alpinestars (Gran Torino) - made for frickin wrong-hand foot change.
Anyone care to recommend a boot that is made for right-hand change?
Cheers šŸ‘

No, but the Sidi boots Iā€™ve worn since ā€˜16 have been best boots Iā€™ve owned & worn regular , goretex keeps feet dry but not too hot , high quality leather , pads where needed , appears they made for shifting with either foot ā€¦.

Love my Sidi All Road - comfortable, reasonably priced, shift reinforcement both sides .
New boots

And importantly great protection - a couple years ago a teenage girl in an SUV came into my lane and took me out . Bike wound up pinning my right ankle under chassis . Bruised and swollen - doctor said if not for the support it would have been broken -

I know you guys will be all over me for this, but I have ridden for the past 60 years with my Tony Llamas, Noconas, Luccheses, Dan Post, etc. Too old, stubborn, and Texanized, to change now.

Too old = time to quit.
Swelling feet = time for slip ons

Slick

Sturdy leather boots. šŸ

I wore work boots (sometimes still do) for 50 years.

What's wrong with flip flops? Slip-ons? Sneakers? Yes, busted - I've done all those. Why? The only thing I hate worse than shoes is socks!

I am usually more sensible, but I have never known the brand name of any footwear I've owned. For a long time, I used military combat boots modified to zip up on the side - too lazy to lace.

Were those aippers authorized? I used to see SFCs and Master Sergeants wear those. Being a lowly spec. 5 I never dared. That said I wore my lace-up combat boots till I crashed and the pavement wore through the stitching. Later, when I had some money, I bought some SIDIs in the early 90s. Still wearing them. Pads on both sides, nice linings, Goretex and over-the-calf high.

No, not in the 60s, and you sure would not want them for combat - I was a 17 year old dependent when I bought them on base and had them "fixed". The cobbler simply cut them down the side and sewed in a zipper - leaked like a sieve. Also, took FOREVER to break-in and quit hurting but that could have something to do with my size 14 feet and at the time extra high arches. I wore those boots until they fell apart in the late 70s or early 80s.
