There were times last week when I thought I was on Nero, especially when I dropped it into second on a mountain grade to pass a long line of cars with a Semi at front. It revs to 90 in second, then takes off all over again in third. Who needs more?

The engine in the Glenli is #38, built early 1947. Works records show that it was originally assembled by George Brown.

That trick Burns & Wright Vincent record lasted for about 20 years in N.Z. - `til some roadracer who was going faster than the Vincent down the main straight in circuit races on his TZ 750 decided to do a timed speed run & raised the record to ~185+mph, a speed fractionally bettered by the Britten [ that had to be tarted up in a dustbin fairing to do it] another 15-20 years later...
