Starting an ES2 fix up

The top fin of the cylinder is broken
Would someone have a scrap cylinder?
I could use the fin and have mine welded

At a first look, I need fenders, fender stays, exhaust (header and muffler), headlight and seat
Anybody have those to spare, or could recommend best source for replacements, including reproductions?

Thanks!

A replacement fin can be fabricated and welded on. You will not be able to tell it from original if done right. I prefer to repair original parts, rather than replace .... that way you do not end up with a replica of your original bike.

There are some who post regularly on this site that could do it.

Where are you located?

I live in Kirkland WA

I would think reproducing the cast texture of the fin would be difficult, but not sure how much it would show

The cast texture is important as it enhances convective heat transfer. Your dialogue is a little confusing as to whether it is a cylinder head fin, or a cylinder barrel fin that is broken. Either way, it could be reproduced. A cylinder barrel fin is more easily hidden as it will be painted over.

For a cylinder head fin, I would PM comnoz in Pueblo CO (look for his posts in the Classic Commando Forum) . I am sure he can do it so it will not show.

Thanks for the advice on some who could do the repair
It is the Cylinder (barrel) that is broken
I will get some photos

If its the cylinder that has a broken top fin, then it will be iron fins.
A piece of steel can be shaped to suit, and welded in - by someone who knows their iron welding.

Sprinkling it with fine sand before painting will replicate the cast finish !

BTW, this era of Norton singles are somewhat scarce, 'scrap' parts will be rarer than hens teeth. (?).
