Just checking in to say "Hello" since I am the newbie here.

I am just about to pick up a N15CS and am looking forward to trolling the posts on the forum for all of the information that I am sure I will need.

I am located in the southern interior of beautiful British Columbia.... home of some of the best riding roads in the world. My other bikes are a '71 Commando, which I will be selling soon to make space for the N15, a '10 Thruxton and a '97 XR650L for getting dirty on.

Looking forward to reading the posts!

Welcome. We hope you mean 'trawling through the posts' for info.
Lotsa good info to trawl through.

Since there are enough 'trolls' here for no good reason .....

Welcome to the site I'm sure you'll find all the answers here :D Nice stable of bikes by the way, pity you have to sell the Commando though!

Erm yes, after reading some pretty contoversial threads hereabouts I think I will change the descriptive to trawling!

Couple of questions. I picked up the bike last night. It is a '67 and rides well. Non-existent front brake, even though it has been changed to a twin leading shoe one. I'll have to look into that.

Anyhoo, it has a boyer electronic ignition, but I got the rebuilt (by Doug Wood in PA) magneto with it. What is the magneto worth? I will probably never use it and would rather not add it to the ever increasing clutter in the shed.

I also inherited another tank, in good shape (but needing stripping and re-finishing). It is the same shape as the one on the bike but without the screw fixings for tank badges. I assume then that it was from a model which had decals/transfers.... Is there any value to it?

Thanks in advance!

I'm in Langley and have a '65 N15. I'll gladly share any info i may have. Pics??

Panorton, I have recently acquired a Norton N15 project bike, it is missing the tank, Battery box, instruments etc and has the wrong front wheel, however it was a good price and I have already sourced a tank and battery box on E-bay, where is the ignition key situated on your bike? I would be very keen to see some photos of your bike if you have the time.
Regards

Keep the magneto. You might want to use it.

For those who actually have access to an N15 or G15 could you kindly confirm whether the frame and engine numbers are the same on these machines.

the ones with magnetos do not have a key

Quite. I'm thinking of fitting an ignition key to circumvent possible thieving issues.

Joe Hunt sell a key kit for thier magnetos, but it's kinda hard to access if mounted to the magneto per the factory model pattern...

You can always wire in an in-line keyswitch to the magneto internal points "hot" wire.
