My Steps to Apparent Ownership

I would ride the bike for a while and make a list of winter projects. Also call Frank about the layshaft issue
In Phoenix it's more like summer projects! At least it will start cooling down some in the next month or so. Yes I've called Frank about the layshaft issue but he won't be able to get to it until mid-October. The more I read about it the more nervous I get.

Fred is now home. Needs a new paid job really badly! I had planned to do black and gold, but a good BRG with gold lettering is starting to win me over. Lots of refreshing to do! Looks tiny next to the Multistrada!

Yes, that color is in need of refresh. Candy Apple Red would be more unique and available for the year. I really like Mazda's latest red. Probably going to paint my '71's frame that color since I'll use Evan Wilcox polished VR tank and seat.
I just find Black/ Gold too common and boring.

Interestingly I have a Miata that is "Soul Red". Might be fun to have a 2-wheeled twin for it.

My Miata is Montego Blue:) Although it looks more green. Depends on sunlight. That could be a good motorcycle color too. No Multistrada for me, old school ST4S, red of course.
Go out and flog that Commando, at least you won't have to learn shifting on the right side with a different pattern now.

The right side is the right shift for a Norton 1 up 3 down, the left shift is just wrong on Nortons in my eyes, but them my brain is trained to shift on both side been doing it for over 50 years of riding bikes.

You can do it yourself with the box in the bike if you're up for it.

A good workshop manual is all that is needed and just take your time and think about it before you get angry when it's not going right, it's how I learned, and I was young and silly when I brought my Norton new and have done all the work on it since and you get to know your bike.
Now I very rarely look in the manual as I know every inch of my bike, every nut and bolt and have every tool needed to work on my Norton and my other bikes, I have a well set up workshop and lift table and scissor jack.
