Muttster: A long, slow '74 resto-mod

Tank and side covers are back on yesterday, along with the new front mudguard (courier did finally arrive). And a new drop of the slippery purple stuff.

Today is doing the final drive tension and rechecking belt tension and then firing it up to do the transfer gear stop adjusters.

Hopefully will then get it buttoned up. Not likely to ride though as it is raining steadily. The horses are miserable in the paddock.

Good luck with it, a real test of patience for sure after being at it for a while!!!

The real test of patience has been my shoulder. I still can't sleep on it, don't have but 75% range of motion, and near constant lo grade pain. Not the break itself, but from the frozen shoulder not thawing.

Just gotta give it time and some knowledgeable physio. The muscle structure around the shoulder is very complex. Had a few episodes myself.
Time and good physio work … and if you aren’t already, stock up on the various natural anti inflammatory supplements.

Because of lockdown have not been to physio in last two months. :(

Went to start it up and foiled by electrickity. Cuts out after a quick tap...looks like I need one of these (which GTiller and I thought I wouldn't need due to the blue can).

The mo.lock backup capacitor is used to level short-term voltage drops to the main relay.

If cranking the engine via the electrical starter is slow and resistive, very large single cylinder capacities or high compressions can cause significant voltage drops. Implementing a backup capacitor prevents short-term voltage drops from de-energizing the main relay.

Two months without a physio is a long time in your condition mate. Muscles inflame and tighten up, then pull on other muscles causing the, to inflame and so on until you have… a frozen shoulder.

I‘m no expert at all, but what I’m certain helped me in the past is the natural anti inflammatory properties of Turmeric capsules and Ginkgo Biloba amongst other stuff.

It at least seems to help break this chain of muscles inflaming each other, in my experience anyway.

Gortnipper. This stuff pictured below is really good stuff. I was advised that external application, absorbed through the skin, was the better method.
Key ingredient is that beginning with G, but when I tried to write it the security bots shut me down!

I used to take a supplement with exactly those two ingredients. 4 mos solid and never felt a difference sadly. :(

Sorted the mo.lock, works well now.

I moved its mounting bracket to underneath the mounting tabs in the speedo cup so the sensor is closer to the surface of the bottom cap.

Other than that, just need to take it out fore a shakedown and adjust the rearsets so the levers are dialed in. But the weather is crap this week. Drizzle or pouring all week.

This was the second startup since March for the bike . The first one was to adjust the freewheel screws on the CNW outrigger plate.

A little wispy white smoke at idle, which it hasn't done before. Will have to keep an eye on that. After the low side, there was oil all over the side of the motor from the breather tube to the catch can. And the motor had completely wet sumped sitting for seven months. Hopefully, just had some oil in the cylinders and it will go...

Bloody drain plug gasket on the L carb had dried out over last 6mos and is now weeping petrol. Cant easily remove the plug anymore with the starter below it. Grrr.
