Moving to VA- Charlottesville area- in a couple of months. Is there a good Norton "expert" in the area for my Commando and Atlas?

I know there is a guy near DC that is supposed to be knowldgable on all things Norton but that would be a drive form Charlottesvile...Here is the website for Nations Capitol Norton Owners...They are a very active group and may be hosting the National Norton owners Rally in 2017...They may also be able to point you to someone closer to you...

There are also some real good Norton (BSA / Triumph) guys in Asheville, North Carolina, which might be a little closer than DC. If you do not find some one in the area, PM me and I will give you their names. There is also a Norton club in Roanoke, they are not very active, but may know some local guys who can be trusted

Good luck with your move. I'm assuming that it's your "native" area.

When we lived in Hampton back in the early 1970s for a little over 3 years, I couldn't wait to get away from the humidity, the summer thunderstorms and the bugs and come back to the Seattle area, where "70 degrees again tomorrow and no relief in sight" was once published in the local newspaper. When it gets into the mid 70's here, the humidity is usually around 20%. We'd emigrated from the UK to the Pacific NW in 1968 and we're very comfortable in this climate.

My last duty station was Patuxent River N.A.S. in southern Maryland before I retired from the active roster in 2012 and I contacted the NCNO and was invited to their next meeting and I can say that they are a super bunch of people. Unfortunately we moved and that was the one and only meeting that I got to attend, but I just thought that I would give a shout out on their fantastic club. Cj

I am 250 miles south west of you from 4-1 to 11-1 in shady valley tn.

Kids and grandkids are in N VA outside DC, so I can always toss the bike on a trailer if something major needs to be done- only about 90 miles away. Since I'll be retired, it probably wouldn't bother me to trailer it 250 miles at that point...

VMBC aka Virginia British Motorcycle Club may be able to help. I'm no longer a member but think they are still active. Richmond had a few nice Botique Bikes shops, Velocity Cycles was the only one I recall. Charlottesville is a beautiful area, I have enjoyed many rides to and around the area. To the west of the area in West Virginia is some of the best riding in the Mid Atlantic East Coast.

Dogt is 73.5 miles and only a 1 hour and 39 minute bike ride away. He is an old codger but he knows what he is doing. Looks like a nice ride down that way as well. Just a thought. Don't know what his labor rate is though.

moved to the valley 4 years ago. let me know when you move,i am in stuarts draft just over the mt. from you
good luck.
