Movin' on Up!

I had an '87 Interceptor for a few years. At the time Interceptors were 700cc to get around an import tariff on motorcycles with more than 700cc displacement. This is a close to when it was new shot. Really didn't like cleaning the white wheels all the time.

Nice being a jack of all trades when building something like what you have there. Looks great.

Well, construction is going well, the painter is done with everything except cleanup and a few small details,

The Honda didn't make me quite as happy. I installed the last batch of new bits and got it to start, took it for a test ride without the back brake and with the shifter linkage maladjusted. It has a misfire that I can't explain.

Monday, maybe...

Looks great ! You know all the Honda needs is a bit of focus , you will have it proper sooner !

Hadn't checked in for a while things sure are looking good! Glad to see your taking a little time for the bikes

Painter got done, so I got busy installing the light fixtures, ceiling fans, switches, dimmers and plugs.

(that's a reflection just above the wall plug...

Temporarily installed a little LED light so the hangar will never be pitch black at night. Finished the 1/2 bath (on the left) fan/light, switch, and duplex outlets. Next comes TRASH DAY!!! Just waiting to receive and install the kitchen cabinets which will have a fair amount of cardboard packing, as well as the refrigerator & range, then I'll have a serious cleanup day and make a trip to the dump.

Beautiful sunset as I was heading home...

...and not too shabby at the opposite end of the building...

Beautiful spot for your new hang-out … looks almost ready to live in !

The last few details (cabinets & counter tops) are really dragging. I've wasted 3/4 of the day waiting for countertops to be delivered; they will NOT leave them in the driveway, and the delivery truck has been "4 stops away" since 9AM this morning (that first stop must be a huge load, and I guess the driver forgot his dolly).

Anyway, I did get the appliances in, wired up a custom made 230v pigtail for the stove, and set the few cabinet pieces (that DID arrive) more or less where they'll go...

Movin' on Up!

Also FINALLY installed the hangar apron lights a few days ago...

Movin' on Up!

Killed 4 more scorpions before the fumigator dropped in Monday and DRENCHED the place-

Movin' on Up!

Also got new seat cushions for the outdoor furniture-

Movin' on Up!

There's a SLIM chance we'll spend the night out there Friday...

I'm re-arranging the tubs left in my big trailer, then I need to build some shelves to put them on where I can access / open them without having to move others, unstack, etc.

That will free up room to move stuff from the container; then I can FINALLY get the Quicksilver out, move it into the hangar, and start re-assembling it for FLIGHT!

Kitchen is almost done. Did TWO "2-person" jobs today: upper cabinets & microwave. Just me and my sore back. Tomorrow will be the kitchen sink, then we go get some beds, couches, table, etc. Just basic stuff. Basically, this thing is DONE.

The reward...

Cue rainbow! (I had it all planned)

Good on you GP , a cool reward at end of your day ,a real bonus , hope you make many great memories in your new spot !

Have been watching your build come together.....sweet job you have done.
Now you can sit back and enjoy the rewards...🍻 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had our first "camp-out" last Saturday, my youngest son and me.

He made fried eggs over-easy, I had coffee.

Then almost everyone showed up. All 5 of my kids in the same place. L-R oldest to youngest, Jason, Nikki, Kevin, Talitha & Alex. Tall-short-tall-short-tall, boy-girl-boy-girl-boy, coincidentally.

Movin' on Up!

Nikki heard there were scorpions...

Sally on the kids' dirt bike-

my youngest grandson drove me around the entire ranch. His first time driving a 4-wheeler

I've been a busy bee (that's what they used to call my grandfather, so i know where I got it from). Got the 2nd floor framed up; that was a LOT of lumber and very little help!

I did have my middle son there to help tip up the two 10'x20' walls...

Then came the fun part - from 8'6" up to 12' at the peak. I built it in 3 parts and managed it solo. My dog must've ate my safety manual...

Got 'r done and even cleaned up my mess. Framed out the two doors and A/C return grilles too (one low, one high, on opposite walls)...

I started on the pony wall at the end of the decking, but haven't been feeling all that hot so I took a couple of days off.

Sometimes you just need that break when you been working on your own, I do the same and no longer rely on my mate's to help me out, I always drop things to help them out but doesn't seem to work my way, always got to wait but end up doing it myself so no longer ask for help, then you get the "why didn't you ask", but I now have a good memory when they ask for help now.
So once all done you moving in full time???

Thing is, I have very few friends here since we moved in 3-1/2 years ago. This is my "getaway", we live in a nice suburban neighborhood that doesn't allow any types of boats, trailers, unsightly piles of lumber, etc, etc ad infinitum.

Suburban life with rules no thanks I be selling up and movin to that lovely spot you have built, I have lived in the same house all my life in suburbia but I am the last of the originals left but all new comers don't talk to me except the girl next door, I mind my own business but it seems the newbies can't mine their own and have had a few conflicts with one or two neighbours just because I don't abide to their ways, but they soon learn that I don't take crap and let them know, but sometimes I do stir the pot just to keep them on their toes.
If they were around at the time I had my 21st birthday party, now that would have made them quite upset, was a good party, the last 18 gallon keg was still full next day and took me and 2 other mates 4 days to empty it.

We lived on my family's ranch since I was 3, 38 years married in the same spot up until this place, my wyfe's "dream home". Ain't no movin away from here.

I could live here at the ranch and love it; Sally is a "no" on that idea, she'll come out for a day trip or a weekend and then it's "back to civilization".
