Mounting CRS Carbs

Mounting CRS Carbs

Mounting CRS Carbs

Looked at different options/manifolds but if similar to angle/shape of the standard manifolds then it seems to place the CRS carbs to high and to far
back fouling the frame and not allowing you to use the CRS throttle pull arangement.
I made this fabricated from stainless, its dropped the carbs about 1/2" giving a better angle for the manifolds, I also made a new airflter front plate
with the 2 big holes lowered by 12mm although now I realize I should of made the holes only 6mm lower. slimmer filter element from RGM.
I can now retain the standard CRS carb throttle cable pull setup (this is with my alloy tank) not sure if it would work with a standard tank.
This is not advertising as I have no intention of making any more , just to show how I went about mounting these carbs.
I guess now I have the samples , they could be used as patterns for casting alloy ones but I dont think there would be a demand for them.

If they work as good as they look, you're golden.

Not to change the subject, but I shot you an E-mail regarding your m/c sleeve kit. Did you get it?

I don't mind the Stock angle (better flow) and changing the throttle setup so it clears the fuel tank. But the manifolds have to be a little shorter and they are very hard to get. If anyone has a line on shorter manifolds - let me know.

I had considered these Ebay item 361230171953 but they look to be fairly rough in the casting, and it takes months to get anything shipped here.

Those look like Amal types and if so they are poor quality. I'm having a batch made by another outfit that does nice work. At least I think they're getting made. They made me about 40 so far and they are good. They are custom specifically for the CRS 31 and 33s to fit onto a Commando. But they are swamped with work.

I'd show you my stuff but it would be advertizing.

Jim , they are the CNC'd ones you are having made? if so they look nice but costly to make but are exact in dimensions and fit compared to cast.

These are cast, well made and nicely finished.

Hi.
From the pictures of the above parts, apart from the rough cast, I think anyone would have difficulty getting fasteners to clear the spigot - even capscrews would foul on these parts.

I've been away for some time so forgive my ignorance but what is with the aversion to advertising?
Have I missed something?

there is at least one member here who objects strongly to us parts guys mentioning our products on the forum , the only safe place is to mention them in the for sale section, Jerry has told me previous not to worry about it.

I think it's all good and healthy discussion.

A blatant "I'm selling these, who wants to buy them" is very different to "I am designing these, what do you think"

We all have the same challenges, and we all have the same model in common. My vote would be that posts like this are great and to be encouraged!

We are lucky to have such an active community, and are blessed to have Don, Jim C, Jim S and Matt contributing so much!

.....I made these for my humble , but slighty tweeked Amals........Stainless . I also tilted the engine a little more forward , to gain an extra cm space .
Amazing, and as always with your bike, very nicely done ludwig. Thanks for posting.

+1...... I couldn't agree more!

Selling? Where's the problem?
Each retailer has their website on their signature.
Forum members (potential customers) can opt-in to go to these sites.
If retailers bring each item into the forum for competitive promotion then there is only one way to opt-out.

You must be shitting me right??
FFS it's hard enough to get good quality parts let-alone custom improved bits.
Geez some people eh???
