$400 is a camshaft to me, not a rain and bug shield I don't get to use much. But ya only live once so why not. One thing a cheap $40 tent is handy for, leaving it behind on last use on way home. My buddy Wesley is a seasoned camper. He just brings big heavy plastic sheet 12'x 16' as ground cover or roll up in rain cover. One of the memories I flash on is cowboy style open air huge clouds drifting past star fields and fog creeping in with nice breeze and no bugs. Wes also carried a big umbrella, like real English riders. You spend so little time in a tent unless its storming and even then usually inside somewhere or under bigger cover with everyone else sticking it out.
