Model 30 International

I had to laugh apparently some of our guys had the keys to the race shop. Why would any Pommie hand the keys to their race shop to Australians ? They've still got some interesting bikes.

Perhaps all manx Nortons were built in the race shop ?
The race bikes were a different beast to the customer bikes - depending on the era.....

But we diverge from 48 Inters.

How are we diverging from 48 Inters ? Are you saying that Johnny Lockett's bike that Francis Beart built was not a race bike ?

If it was supplied through a Dealer as customer bike, then it would have come off the production line ?

Unless you know any different, or are just making up Norton history ??

And, why would Johnny Locketts bike be any different to any of the other bikes that Francis Beart built/raced.

Thats the one discussed on another thread here.

Nice bike,
but views of the head and piston would suggest its not entirely assembled ready for riding...
Same seller has had a number of them for sale too, in various states of riders/rebuilds/baskets/projects.

Those numbers have been stamped pretty deep, take a lot of filing off.

I've bought a bare frame, from a Dealer, numbers had been filed clean to show there were no surprises lurking beneath the paint - which was quite a thick stoved enamel back then. Don't read too much into it... ?
