Rookie questions here folks;

I'm taking the motor out of my 75 e start.
Everything is going well so far...Primary came apart no problem as did the clutch.
The front isolastic is off and so is the top head steady. In fact, two of the three rear engine to engine plate bolts are out.
Just the top rear engine plate bolt is still in. I have this weird feeling that when I take out the last bolt,
the bike is going to collapse or fold in on its self. I have a length of wood resting under the crankcase on the frame rails.
The bike is currently on its center stand. Shocks are in place.. wheels, forks, tranny, air box, battery box, oil tank, and mudguards also still in place.
Help me out here....Should I take the bike off the center stand? Will it in fact "fold" in on its self when I remove the last bolt?
Will the engine tranny cradle pivot somehow?
Can I prop it up?
I am hoping to take the motor out as a unit.
Thank you in advance,
Glenn

You will want to put a support under the front of the engine cradle before you take out that last bolt. The front of the cradle is going to want to pivot down around the rear iso mount. Jim

It may move a little but shouldn't collapse all together if the rear shocks are still in place. You say you have removed the front mount and headsteady so there is only the weight of the engine acting as a balance now unless you still have exhaust system on.
How much it moves will depend on the condition of the rear ISO bush. If the long rear mount stud that goes through it is tight as it should be the centre sleeve in the centre should held meaning the rubber will give as the outer sleeve tries to pivot around it.

All good here...Thank you for the advice.
The motor came out much easier than I expected.
Onward to the rebuild!
Best,
Glenn
