My seal has leaked since being fitted, I was a bit dubious to the quality as it did not look as well made as the one that was fitted when I rebuilt the gearbox. A replacement was purchased from my local Norton parts dealer, only to find it does not fit. Now both seals were purchased from UK dealers that are listed on the ANIL website, so I would have thought that they would be of the required standard, but obviously not. On closer inspection with a magnifying glass one has dimensions in mm's, the other has no chamfer on the leading edge so it starts to pick up on the side of the recess.
Hopefully, the one just ordered from ANIL will fit nicely just like the one that I originally fitted years ago when they were based in Southampton. Sadly it now seems that once quality retailers are falling by the wayside by trying to circumnavigate ANIL in the procurement of parts.
