I have just installed new bearings in my rear wheel, but the lockring does not screw down flat like I think it should. I thought sure I had the bearing down to it's seat, but maybe it is too shallow. The bearing is recessed down 5mm and the screw measures 8mm. I have about 1.5 mm clearance from the lockring flange down to the surface.
I don't remember how this was before I disassembled, but it doesn't seem right. The internal spacer is touching the back of the bearing like it should.
Do I need to get this gap down? Will tightening the lockring more force it down? Did I leave out a part?
Thanks,
